The Vapid Taxi is a Service vehicle featured in Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online. The Taxi is a variant of the standard Stanier base model. In GTA V Story Mode, the Taxi can only be found and stolen (see the spawn locations in the "Appearances" section below). It is not available for purchase. The Taxis are operated by the Downtown Cab Co. taxi company, appearing in a yellow and blue scheme. A Taxi can be called at any time to come to the player's current location, and can be used to fast travel across the map by skipping the trip.
The Taxi can be obtained in GTA Online as a Bonus Reward, or it can be purchased for a price of $650,000. The Taxi is stored as a Pegasus Vehicle. It cannot be customized. Once acquired, you can request the delivery of the Taxi from the Pegasus Concierge, Phone. A trade price of $487,500 (Discounted)* can be unlocked for the Taxi. A special Red variant of the Taxi, called "Taxi Custom", can be unlocked in GTA Online as Pegasus Vehicle after December 11, 2018 as an exclusive reward when reaching Sponsorship Tier 25 in Arena War. It comes with pre-installed performance upgrades, making the red Taxi faster than the regular one. Both versions of the Taxi can be used to play the Taxi Work side mission in GTA Online.
On January 19, 2023, Rockstar implemented a new Fast Travel service in GTA Online, that allows players to instantly travel around the map. This new feature is exclusive to players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The GTA Online Fast Travel service works similarly to Story Mode, by simply entering a Taxi Cab and skipping the ride to teleport to the chosen location. However, unlike single-player, in GTA Online you can't skip the trip to any specific waypoint: you can only fast travel to a list of 10 fixed destinations across the map, called "points of interest". Skipping the Taxi trip costs $1,000 for regular players, while it's free for GTA+ members. There is also a 48-minute cooldown between Trip Skips, which is lowered to only 5 minutes for GTA+ members.

No, you cannot sell the Taxi. Unfortunately in GTA Online it's not possible to sell Special Vehicles, Pegasus, or Facility Vehicles.
